Just a little brotherly bonding!
Here Ethan and Connor are playing in their room one day. They were both trying to ride the horse and were being very nice to each other so I ran to get the camera, of course! :) We held our breath when we made the decision for them to share a room and Caleb and Sawyer to share a room. Ethan likes his space and his downtime sometimes and Connor seems to have a radar for when someone doesn't want to be bothered. For him, that is the prime time to pick on them, it seems. :) He's a character! He is the little brother that will reach as far as he can with his little hands...or toes...when he's in his car seat...just to touch Ethan when he doesn't want to be touched. If someone is not in a great mood, I really think he thinks he can make it better by picking on them! :) This reminds me of growing up with my sisters and being in the car together on long trips. :) Out of the 3 of them so far, Ethan and Connor HAD been clashing quite a bit, but this Fall, with Caleb in Kindergarten until 3 in the afternoon, they've had time to play together in the afternoon after Ethan gets out of preschool earlier than Caleb. They are SO glad to see each other when we pick Ethan up and they have lots of fun playing together! Of course, they still have their moments of fighting or arguing, but it's so fun to see them having fun and giggling together!!! I love these moments!!! :)
This is how Ethan wakes up in the morning almost every morning...excited about the day and excited about seeing everybody...as if it's been YEARS. :) He usually has a little mischievous smile and wants to surprise us and let us know he's AWAKE! :) When Connor started this new habit of crawling in Ethan's bed in the morning, though, I was thinking WWIII might be about to start. :) I'm so glad Ethan was ok with it. We hear them giggling now in the mornings and know they're awake and hiding under the covers or being silly. :)
Ok, this may look like an ordinary picture to you, but to me it represents a HUGE milestone and makes me smile!!! Ethan is sharing "his" Geo Trax with his little brother!! They belong to all of them, but he went through a period where he was VERY territorial with this particular toy....one of his very favorites. Here Connor is doing some repairs on Grand Central Station. :) (wearing his Louisiana Tech t-shirt that Todd loves, of course)...and with Ethan's blessing! They actually make track designs together and cooperate while they're doing this. HUGE PROGRESS! :) I can understand Ethan's frustration sometimes when he's working on a big design and Connor is in demolition mode....one of his favorite modes. :) I also understand that Connor just wants to have fun and doesn't care about the intricate design like Ethan does! :) Ethan does sometimes want to build without his little brother's "help," but they have worked it out where they do cooperate and have fun together often! I LOVE to watch this from a distance!! It definitely makes me smile!!!
